Welcome FEBRUARY 2007 As you will all know many features have changed over the last few months and we have come a long way, with many new and inventive ideas to keep you our Booters lives much simpler when using the site. But now we have made the biggest change of all we have introduced the FreeWay, there will be more features added soon but for now we want you to enjoy your Booting experience. Editing your Pitch Now has photo feature so that you can see exactly what you are editing, makes life a lot easier we think. -------------------------------------------------------------- 10th May 2006 We have added some 'feature pages' to our Home Page. You will notice features on Ratings, Haggling etc. Keep 'em peeled and they will change on a regular basis. 27th April 2006 Users are now able to add a message when they cancel a haggle explaining their actions (and possibly securing a sale if the reasons are understood) 23rd April 2006 Within MyPitches, there is now a reminder to rate buyers (as well as on the Pitch Status Page). This is on the 'sold item' list at the bottom. There is now the ability to see who is the Haggler. On the Pitch Status Page (MyBoot>MyPitches then click on the item or pitch) there is the haggle actions and above the Haggler. The name is clickable to check ratings or contact if need be. 20th April 2006 A new look BootBay has arrived! Changes include the new 'BootBar', Ratings comments and many other features. Click here for more! 13th April 2006 Console and Video Games category has now been added 10th April 2006 A Travel category has now been added. 4th April 2006 Within the Offer Summary on a Pitch Status view (MyBoot>MyPitches>Click on pitchname), the user now has the ability to click on the username (the 'Offerer') and check out their ratings before deciding to accept the offer. 4th April 2006 A new MyPitches has now been launched! This screen will not only show you all of your pitches and their current status, but now beneath will be a list of all your items you have sold, that someone is haggling you with or that someone has made an offer on. Clicking on the item will then take you to that pitch page so you can decide on the next move. For those lucky ones who have sold a fair amount, there will some housework to do in removing old items, but this should also remind both buyers and sellers of outstanding transactions. As with all our launches, please email webmaster@bootbay.co.uk for further assistance if required. 31st March 2006 The 'All' button is back. The trial period for it is now over and after various comments on the lack of the All button in the category search, we have decided to add it again. 27th March 2006 Payment reminder in MyBoot for unpaid items. If an item has not been paid within 7 days, the item will go red with a notice to remind the user to pay. 22nd March 2006 Email notification when a Pitch ends is now running. This will remind users to go back and relist or check their pitches etc. 21st March 2006 User profile page added plus Bad Ratings page added. When on Pitch view, click on the Pitch owners name for their profile. Also, if they have a bad rating, you can view this by clicking on the bad smiley to see the reasons. 20th March 2006 New categories added. Videos/DVDs and Music 15th March 2006 Wanted has had a bit of a makeover - a new 'home page' has been created to give it a snappier look plus all the Wanted items are instantly viewable. Improvements will be constant on this, so keep 'em peeled! 9th March 2006 We now have a 'resolution area' which we hope will help in sorting out user issues. If you have a buyer or seller problem, you can go here and fill out a form which we can then follow up on. Goto MyBoot and the link is in the upper righthand corner. 7th March 2006 Punctuation is here! Please feel free to use all punctuation on your items their conditions. 7th March 2006 FAQ page created. An area for frequently asked questions that should help users around BootBay. At the moment it is new so the FAQs are limited, but we will be adding all the time and any suggestions you want to share with other BootBay users can be emailed to; Webmaster@bootbay.co.uk. 4th March 2006 When Haggling with a user, you can now add a message when you lower or raise that haggle. This will allow for better dialogue betrween users and hopefully clinch that deal quicker! 1st March 2006 Changing your details is no longer possible via MyBoot - unfortunately we have had to disable this due to a couple of users abusing the system. Goto here 17th February 2006 'Handbags and accessories' category added 15th February 2006 Payment methods area added to Pitch for easier viewing. 2nd February 2006 Combined payments button (v.1) added to
MyBoot for PayPal payments. This will also allow you to enter an
agreed postage amount too. 1st February 2006 Membership begins! Click on this for membership questions. Have fun! 24th January 2006 Cancel button added on Offers in MyBoot - for those forgetful pitch owners who forget to clear down your offers. 23rd January 2006 Wanted and Lorryverts are now here! Click on either for more information. Standby for membership! 19th January 2006 Sees the release of BootBays very own Forum. Now you add your comments and share stories with fellow booters at any time! 14th January 2006 You can now EDIT sold items to change postage in MyPitches. 4th January 2006 Its a roll-over! Get the new year off to a great start, have that clearout you've been promising yourself, and "Go Booting" for free. We've decided to roll over the Christmas free listings to the end of January 2006, so if you want to take advantage of free pitches for the whole month then now is the time to do it! 3rd January 2006 Happy New Year everyone! are changes currently happening such as page improvements (new look
or functionality for example) so don't panic. It's all in aid of the
BootBay 'New Way' coming soon. Keep em peeled.
9th December '05 You may have seen a new logo on BootBay - BJ Farr is a courier service that we are currently working with to send the BootBay name FARR and wide! The link for this service is the Logo so if you are interested then click and check the prices for the delivery of your item(s). We hope that this service will help our Booters to keep the cost of deliveries down and to achieve a quicker turnaround of items bought and sold. 19th November You can now add a message to your pitch. When you enter a new pitch you will have the option of adding a message such as 'All items are brand new'. For existing pitch owners, goto MyBoot, then MyPitches and edit a Pitch - a button will allow you to change your message. We have the pleasure of bringing you our new and improved version of MyBoot. This gives the ability to; Change details (including password) 5th November IMPORTANT PLEASE READ: Would users on Bootbay PLEASE make sure that we can send emails to you. We are getting a lot of emails returned and this is due to the spam settings that your email providers have put on. Could you please check your spam folder and spam settings. We are looking into the problem but in the meantime, please confirm in your anti-spam/junk mail folders that we are marked as NOT JUNK/SPAM. Please note that we also aim to send a welcome email from Infocus within 12 hours of your registration being received and an email from Bootbay after you have registered, if you do not receive either of these emails then your spam setting is not allowing our emails to reach you - could you please follow the above to help us to help you! A quick word from the Web Team now; The Advanced Search has now been released.
This will allow users to search by many different criteria. Click
Advanced Search in the Boot Panel to try it out! There is also the new
look category search (click Go Booting) which includes the NEW
sign for new pitches. We have also changed the Image uploading
pages so they are more user friendly but also control what is going on
the site. This will stop any image issues we had in the past. The site is ever growing and I'm sure that you will see more 'little' changes happening as well as large ones so keep a keen eye! We would like to offer everyone that has hired or will be hiring a pitch before the 1st November, the entire month of November completely free of all costs - yes, you have read it right - no charge for hiring pitches and no commission payable on any goods sold for November!
